Cinnamon Sugar Baked Donuts

The classic baked donut with a cinnamon sugar topping and a simple glaze. Not too small and not too big, these cinnamon sugar baked donuts will satisfy your sweet tooth for dessert or pair perfectly with a cup of coffee for brunch.



  • 2 cups flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 2 eggs


  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • cinnamon and sugar for topping


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Whisk flour, sugars, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, sour cream, butter, vanilla extract, canola oil, and eggs.
  4. Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients, whisking to combine.
  5. Scoop batter into greased donut pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While donuts are baking, combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
  7. Let donuts cool before removing them from the pan and dipping them in the glaze. Top with cinnamon and sugar.
