Pull Apart Brown Sugar Muffins

Pull apart brown sugar muffins, filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a doughy center. Jumbo in size and finished off with a glaze drizzle.

  • 3 ¼ cups flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • ¼ cup butter, cubed
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted, plus additional for coating


  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Combine 1 1/2 to 2 cups of the flour, the sugar, yeast, and salt in a stand mixer and whisk to combine.
  2. Next, combine milk, water, and butter in a bowl and microwave until warm but not too hot in order to be able to activate the yeast.
  3. Add the butter mixture to the flour mixture and mix to combine using the dough hook attachment.
  4. Add the egg and then gradually add the remaining flour, beating until combined.
  5. Once combined flour your work surface and form dough into a ball and let rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Cut dough into 30 nuggets and combine cinnamon and brown sugar in a small bowl. Coat each nugget in melted butter and then roll each in the cinnamon brown sugar mixture.
  7. Place nuggets in greased jumbo muffin tray. Place 5 nuggets in each, making 6 muffins in total.
  8. Let dough rise in muffin tray for 1 hour and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  9. Once done rising, bake for approximately 15-20 minutes. While muffins are baking combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together in a small bowl.
  10. Once muffins are done baking, let cool and then drizzle icing on top and enjoy.
