Strawberry Grapefruit Fizzy Mocktail

·

I’ve never been a huge fan of mocktails as I often find the combinations to never be that great on their own. While sometimes refreshing, I usually picture a mocktail to be reminiscent of fruit-flavored seltzer water. If you share that the sentiment, I’m here to offer you the SIMPLEST summer mocktail that is equal parts delicious, healthy, and refreshing.

Refreshing and naturally sweet!

These strawberry grapefruit mocktails have literally 3 ingredients, a few optional toppings, and are truly so healthy. No artificial flavors here, just strawberries, grapefruit juice, and seltzer. Not only will you feel like you’re sipping on a cross between a grapefruit smoothie and a strawberry daiquiri, but you’ll also get that bubbly finish which gives it that favorite cocktail vibe.

We’ll start with some frozen strawberries. I found frozen to work perfectly here as then there’s no need to add any ice in (and not sure about you, but I find whenever I need ice, I never have it!). We’re going to puree the strawberries, so grab the strongest blender you got. A food processor also works perfectly fine if you don’t have a blender.

Before blending, the only other step is to squeeze some fresh grapefruit juice. I think in this case fresh is definitely the way to go as it really helps the grapefruit flavor shine through. If you have your reservations about the taste of grapefruit juice and find it to be sour, fear not, the sweetness from the strawberries creates the perfect balance.

Now time for the fun part!

Combine the strawberries and grapefruit juice in a blender, and add a little bit of water as well. Although we don’t want this mocktail to be thin, it’s also best if it has the perfect sippable consistency, so the water definitely comes in handy.

Once everything is nice and blended together it’s time to grab your favorite drink glasses. This mocktail is the prettiest, summery color so if you have clear glasses I find those to be best. Pour ‘em up and top with a splash of seltzer water for the fabulous fizzy finish we all need.

Top with mint, strawberry, or grapefruit slices and serve up these summery mocktails at your next summer get together, or any time you feel like an extra delicious daytime drink.
